A design I did back in 2002 for the City of West Sac's 9th Annual Riverbank Music Festival poster . . . came across this today so I thought I'd share it.
City Lights: Going Green and Staying out of the Red
This issue of City Lights will be the last printed issue. In an effort to be more cost effective and eco-friendly, City Lights is going digital and will be renamed "City iLights". Not only are we retiring City Lights - we're retiring me. Effective Sept.1 Dan Harris Draws will become my new gig. Hope to be designing fun stuff when I'm not traveling or riding my bike.
Something I didn't like about the PF poster so I held off going to the printer. Was it too linear? . . . not "Peter Max" enough? . . . was it the colors? I don't know, but my inner voice said "hey self - you're not happy with it". - so I played with it and I like it mo betta now. Maybe I'll take it to the printer, Commerce Printing on Monday.
Karen Caterino needed a design for 100 "Wild Women on the Run" who will run in the Nike Womens Marathon. I did the design and they have all pledged to follow my blog. Good luck to all my new followers. Have a great race!
I've had some request to reprint the "Steamboat at the Paintersville Bridge" poster from (I think) 1997. E-mail me if you'd like a giclee print for your collection. Sizes are 14" x 19" and 24" x 16". (Larger custom sizes available upon request). My e-mail is dandraws@gmail.com.
When the kids were in school I used to design blankets for fundraising. Here are the Bates (Elementary), Delta (High School) and UC Berkeley, AOPi blanket designs
I drew this one (1997) for Maria Wong of the Yolo County Heritage Program . . . "Partnering for Conservation". The original Adobe Illustrator drawing was for a poster and then the Red Winged Blackbird ended up in there logo. Fun assignment. Bring me more of these.
Aunt Ronni lives in Astoria, Oregon - Next year they're celebrating 100 years - If you go there, visit in the Spring or Summer and take the trolley that runs the length of the town along the Columbia River to the Astoria Sunday Market where Ronni sells her fabulous "Ronni Originals".
Michelle Fan is my Acupuncturist. She's in West Sacramento. She can cure a lot of ailments, especially bad backs. If you are hurting anywhere, I highly recommend Michelle. I did this poster for her to show my appreciation for all the help she gave me.
"For better health and a longer life" . . . Michelle Fan (916) 373 0598.
